The book describes the results of investigations of the
electrophysical, chemical, gas-dynamic and other processes in low-temperature
plasma, their diagnostics, modelling and application in various areas of
science and technology. Special attention is given to the problems associated
with physico-chemical processes and chemical reactions in nonequilibrium and
(quasi) equilibrium low-temperature plasma. Kinetic and thermodynamic aspects
of plasmochemical reactions and their mechanisms, determined mainly by
reactions under electron impacts and reactions of vibrationally excited
molecules, are discussed. |

Contents: Kinetics of
plasmochemical reactions (main assumptions, Pauli, Boltzmann, Langevin
equations, stationary concentration method, etc) Thermodynamics of
plasmochemical reactions (initial data for thermodynamic calculations,
equations for calculating the parameters of the equilibrium state of complex
multicomponent bodies, etc) Mechanisms of nonequilibrium plasmochemical
reactions (temperature of heavy particles in electric discharge plasma,
mechanisms of excitation of electron levels of atoms and molecules, ionisation
and ion conversion in plasma, etc) Special problems of plasma chemistry
Chemical reactions in turbulent low-temperature plasma flows (turbulent
mixing, gas-dynamic models of turbulent mixers, etc) Chemistry of
nonequilibrium microwave discharges (design of microwave plasma generators,
chemical activity of nonequilibrium plasma, etc) Plasma polymerisation
Physico-chemical fundamentals of plasma treatment of materials with low
thermal conductivity, high melt viscosity and polymorphous transformations
(heating and cooling of ceramic particles in plasma flow, kinetics and
mechanisms of phase transitions, etc). |
